The sixteenth issue of A Rabbit's Foot finally releases this September, launching at the Venice Film Festival. 

Issue 16: FILM FASHION explores the impact and influence of fashion and costume design on cinema, art, and culture. There are two covers available—one reveals Hollywood icon Willem Dafoe as “The Chameleon”, shot in Rome by Daniel Sannwald, and for the first time, superstar Kendall Jenner features on the cover of A Rabbit’s Foot as she has never been seen before: in “La Passeggiata” a concept paying homage to the sirens of 1960s Italian cinema and the work of Bruce Gilden. 

A Rabbit’s Foot visited Dafoe at his Rome farm. The story is presented in a multi-page long-read with the actor candidly speaking about his life on-screen, on-stage, and now as an alpaca farmer. 

Few directors embody the relationship between style and cinema like Pedro Almodóvar. He speaks to Anna Cafolla for an essay that charts his relationship to the women and fashions that have defined his visual language. The Oscar-winning Danny Boyle offers his first interview about Murdoch-era drama Ink, debuting at Venice, as well as his feelings about Trainspotting thirty years later. 

Also, inside are long-read conversations with actor-of-the-moment Hannah Einbinder—photographed by Collier Schorr. She speaks about her work with Jane Schoenbrun and the Emmy-winning Hacks. Milena Canonero, the four-time Oscar-winning costume designer behind Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola, and Wes Anderson’s masterpieces—from A Clockwork Orange to Out of Africa—gives a rare interview to her longtime friend Natasha Fraser. Sofia Coppola shares anecdotes on Canonero, and Wes Anderson pays tribute to her genius in a touching letter. The costume designer also supplies never-before-seen photographs from her archives. 

Writer Henry Wong speaks to legendary author Hanif Kureishi and filmmaker Stephen Frears on My Beautiful Laundrette, and their relationship four decades on. Eric Twardzik pens an essay on the power of corduroy on screen, and Joseph Bullmore details the Jet-set rivalry between shipping magnates Aristotle Onassis and Stavros Niarchos. 

In an exclusive story by Oskar Oprey, Gilbert and George open up their East London studio for a numerous conversation about their work, and their famous penchant for tailoring—with intimate photography by Charlie Pike. 

Meiko Kaji, the Japanese screen legend who influenced Kill Bill, speaks to A Rabbit’s Foot from her home in Tokyo. She digs some unseen photographs from her archives, and heyday, as a style icon.
