The eighth book from the Kinfolk programme, edited by John Burns and published by Artisan, focuses on slow travel — train routes, road trips, bicycle journeys and walking — and the destinations that reward arriving the long way round. Across 256 pages it pairs the magazine's familiar photographic restraint with destination essays that sit somewhere between travel writing and design notebook.

It is a useful addition to any travel shelf, and a clear statement of where Kinfolk's editorial sensibility has moved over the last decade: away from interiors and towards a more grounded interest in how we move through the world. Hardcover, published October 2024.
