Tim Burton — Designing Worlds
Tim Burton — Designing Worlds
Published by The Design Museum to accompany its 2024–25 London exhibition, this is the official catalogue of Tim Burton's career considered as a body of design work rather than a film catalogue. Across 304 pages it draws together 200 colour and 50 black-and-white images of his work as illustrator, painter, photographer and writer, alongside essays from Anja Aronowsky Cronberg, Colleen Atwood and others.
The pleasure of the book is the volume of unfamiliar material — sketches, prop research, costume references — that sits outside the films most readers will already know. It is a useful entry in any design or film library, and the kind of museum publication that gets better with re-reading. Edited by Maria McLintock; paperback, published January 2025.
